Cats and dogs put differences aside for Dogs Trust family fun day

We made our branch debut in the unlikeliest of places last weekend – the Dogs Trust family fun day at Heaton Park.

The event, which took place on Sunday 2 July, was organised by Dogs Trust Manchester. Highlights at our stall included 'Unlock the Kitty' and 'Which Cat is Microchipped?' games, an arts and crafts corner where anyone feeling creative could decorate a cat mask, and a friendly encounter between the Cats Protection and Dogs Trust mascots!

Camlan Leitner, branch coordinator, said: "We were thrilled to team up with our friends at the Dogs Trust for our first event. At Cats Protection, we don’t think you have to be a 'cat person' or a 'dog person' - there’s plenty of love to go around!"

Neus Pavon, from our education team, said: "Children seem to have a natural affinity with our feline friends. It was great to see them having such a good time at the fun day and learning about cats along the way."

We'll be organising an official branch opening event very soon, so keep an eye on the website and our social media accounts for more details.
